This article provides some basic information for customers who have web sites hosted on our Linux servers.
Common FTP Settings which Apply for All Users:
Please check your connection settings with the information provided below, some FTP clients use default settings which are not compatible with our FTP server.
 
FTP Port: 21
Passive Mode: Customers can use Passive Mode to connect, we recommend connecting without this setting. If you encounter problems try turning it on. Performance difference has been identified when the setting it switched on.
Default Folder: /httpdocs/
Hostname: Use the following format for the Hostname - ftp.yourdomain.com.au
Supported FTP Software Clients:
This is a short list of known FTP software programs which Raines Internet Solutions have tested with our Linux server platform, by no means is our system limited to these programs; but we can guarantee customers that these tools are known to work with our platform.
